Abstract
This paper investigates the discrete covering location problem on a network where the establishment costs of facilities and the penalty costs for uncovered customers can be random or uncertain variables. A covering model is formulated based on the concept of the ideal chance distribution function, and an algorithm is proposed to obtain the optimal set of covering facilities on a uncertain random network. The approach used to solve the covering location problem on a uncertain random network is the ideal chance distribution function approach. Using the ideal chance distribution function approach, algorithms are proposed to solve the covering location problem on uncertain random networks.

In this paper, first, the ideal chance distribution function for the covering problem on a uncertain random network is introduced, and an algorithm is presented to obtain it. Then, the covering model is formulated based on the concept of the ideal chance distribution function, and an algorithm is proposed to obtain the optimal set of covering facilities on a uncertain random network. The result of the numerical example demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in determining the optimal set of covering facilities.
